Local votes and rules

A residents' group and Castle Rock Township sued Farmington over the data center park. In November 2025 a judge refused to dismiss the case. On Sept. 16, 2026 the plaintiffs filed to dismiss both cases, according to the city. The dismissals still need a judge's final OK.

Farmington's council approved the rezoning, plan change and planned development for Tract's data center park. The final plat followed on Nov. 18 and the development contract on Dec. 2, 2024.
