Meta Rosemount data center

Meta is building a 715,000 square foot data center on 280 acres at UMore Park in Rosemount. It costs about $800 million and was set to open in 2026. Xcel Energy supplies power, and new power lines were planned nearby.
Where things stand: Meta planned to open in 2026. A satellite-based tracker says the first buildings looked finished by March 2026.

Rosemount paused new data center projects for one year. The city wants to study water use, noise and other effects of the Meta data center already being built there.
