Local votes and rules
β Approved
Rowan Digital Infrastructure asked Temple to approve the 'Lasso' building, the last of six data centers on its Temple campus, on a new site after Rowan gave land to the city for a landfill expansion. The Planning and Zoning Commission heard it on August 17, 2026, with City Council to follow in September. The city is also weighing a tax break, annexation and new rules with a 200-foot buffer between data centers and homes.

β‘ Your electric company
Depending on where you live in Temple City: Oncor Electric Delivery Company LLC (company) or City of Bartlett (not available) or Heart of Texas Electric Co-op (co-op (owned by its members)) or Pedernales Electric Co-op, Inc. (co-op (owned by its members)) or Bartlett Electric Co-op, Inc. (co-op (owned by its members)).
In much of Texas you can pick who sells you power, but this company owns the power lines.
Big data centers need a lot of power. Who pays for new power lines depends on state rules. See the rules in Texas.
