Rowan 'Project Temple' data center campus, incl. Lasso building (Temple)
Also called: Project Lasso, Lasso building, Rowan Temple AUS01/AUS02
Rowan Digital Infrastructure is building a 3-building data center campus in Temple's Synergy industrial park, about 300 megawatts in all. The city annexed and zoned the land in fall 2025. The third building, called 'Lasso', moved to a new parcel because the city needs the original spot for its landfill, so it needs a new approval and tax break.
Where things stand: Two buildings under construction. Third building ('Lasso') was set for a final City Council vote on Sept. 17, 2026; result not yet confirmed.
🕒 Latest update (Sept 3, 2026): City Council held a first hearing on annexing land and a tax break for Lasso; residents spoke for and against.

✅ Approved
Rowan Digital Infrastructure asked Temple to approve the 'Lasso' building, the last of six data centers on its Temple campus, on a new site after Rowan gave land to the city for a landfill expansion. The Planning and Zoning Commission heard it on August 17, 2026, with City Council to follow in September. The city is also weighing a tax break, annexation and new rules with a 200-foot buffer between data centers and homes.
