β Turned down
Dickson City's Zoning Hearing Board unanimously rejected a developer's challenge to the borough's data center rules. The developer argued the manufacturing zone lacks power lines and space. The fight now moves to county court.
βοΈ Court case
The developer Dickson City Development LLC asked the county court to cancel Dickson City's new data center zoning law. The company calls the rules exclusionary because they block its Bell Mountain project.
π Data center rules
Dickson City Borough Council voted unanimously to allow data centers only in its light manufacturing (M1) zone, and only with a special exception from the zoning board. Data centers are not allowed in homes or open-space zones. This came after a developer proposed a big campus on Bell Mountain.
