Dickson City Development data center (Bell Mountain)
Also called: Dickson City Development LLC
A developer wants four data center buildings on Bell Mountain in Dickson City, outside the zone where the borough allows them. The zoning board said no, and the fight is now in county court. The borough says the developer would not share how much power it needs.
Where things stand: The Zoning Hearing Board denied the developer's challenge in May 2026, but the developer is appealing in county court. Not final.
๐ Latest update (Sept 18, 2026): The Times-Tribune listed the Bell Mountain project (4 buildings) as denied by the zoning board and appealing in county court.

Local votes and rules
โ Turned down
Dickson City's Zoning Hearing Board unanimously rejected a developer's challenge to the borough's data center rules. The developer argued the manufacturing zone lacks power lines and space. The fight now moves to county court.
โ๏ธ Court case
The developer Dickson City Development LLC asked the county court to cancel Dickson City's new data center zoning law. The company calls the rules exclusionary because they block its Bell Mountain project.
๐ Data center rules
Dickson City Borough Council voted unanimously to allow data centers only in its light manufacturing (M1) zone, and only with a special exception from the zoning board. Data centers are not allowed in homes or open-space zones. This came after a developer proposed a big campus on Bell Mountain.
