Dahlgren West data center campus (Oasis Digital Properties)
Oasis Digital Properties won approval for 10 buildings (about 6.8 million square feet) on 485 acres on the north side of James Madison Parkway. Reports put it at about 1.2 GW. The developer says it could bring $100 to $120 million a year in local taxes.
Where things stand: Supervisors approved it unanimously in August 2025.

Amazon Data Services sued after the county zoning appeals board upheld a refusal to confirm Amazon's 'vested rights' to build on the 893-acre Birchwood site. A trial was scheduled for September 28-29, 2026; no ruling had been reported.

A newly elected board majority canceled the tax deal (performance agreement) the county had signed with Amazon on December 19, 2023 for an 869-acre data center campus at the old Birchwood power plant, and began looking at rezoning the land back to farmland.
