'Project Mustang' data center campus (east of Taylor)
Also called: Project Mustang
Big Watt Digital and PowerHouse Data Centers plan a 665-acre data center campus between FM 112 and U.S. 79 east of Taylor, with its own gas-fired power plant and closed-loop cooling. After strong pushback from Taylor residents, they withdrew their request to be annexed and zoned by the city.
Where things stand: Developers dropped their request to join Taylor in Sept. 2026 and will move forward under Williamson County, which has little zoning power.
๐ Latest update (Sept 2026): Developers withdrew their annexation and zoning request with the City of Taylor.
