FluidStack data center (outside Harlingen)
Also called: Fluidstack Rio Hondo
FluidStack plans a data center just outside Harlingen city limits, so the city cannot decide if it gets built. The company asked to send stormwater into a city-owned drainage canal, but commissioners tabled the request until FluidStack holds a public open house. The city also now requires public hearings for big drainage requests.
Where things stand: Harlingen tabled the company's request to drain stormwater into a city canal on Sept. 2, 2026.
๐ Latest update (Sept 2, 2026): Harlingen City Commission tabled FluidStack's drainage agreement after residents raised concerns.
