A Connecticut company wants to build eight two-story data center buildings on 191 acres at the old Publicker Distillery site in Linfield. It is Limerick Township's second big data center plan, after Project Laurel. The township's elected supervisors will make the final decision after hearings that start in early 2027.
Where things stand: Application filed April 2026. Hearings were pushed back: planning commission review expected in December 2026 and the first supervisors' hearing in January 2027.

Local votes and rules

A developer asked Limerick Township for a conditional use approval to build a 1.4 million-square-foot data center campus on about 192 acres across from the Philadelphia Premium Outlets. The township planning commission listed 18 conditions it wants met, such as noise testing and proof of water supply. The supervisors' hearing began in April 2026.

After hearing many public comments about data centers, Limerick supervisors authorized a review of Ordinance No. 428 on data center zoning.

Limerick supervisors voted to send a letter to state leaders in Harrisburg opposing a proposed land swap connected to the planned data center.
