Sand Springs Planning Commission recommended the rezoning on January 27, 2026, with one no vote. On February 3, City Council voted 6-1 to rezone about 827 acres along Highway 97 from farm to light industrial use for the Project Spring data center, on land the city annexed from Osage County.
