Local votes and rules
✅ Approved · Maricopa County
County supervisors voted 4-1 to give Project Baccara a special permit needed near Luke Air Force Base. The 160-acre site off Olive Avenue and Litchfield Road would hold two data centers and a gas power plant, about 400 feet from a dozen homes. It still needs an air permit.
📜 Data center rules · Maricopa County
County supervisors updated zoning for data centers on unincorporated land. They are allowed only in the IND-2 and IND-3 industrial zones; other land must be rezoned first.
🗺️ Zoning change · Maricopa County
County supervisors unanimously rezoned about 2,000 acres west of the White Tank Mountains for industrial use. This clears the way for Hassayampa Ranch, a planned data center campus over 1 gigawatt led by Arizona Land Consulting.
