PowerPlay AI and Sharon AI gas-powered data center (near Abilene)
A new company, PowerPlay AI, and Australian AI cloud firm Sharon AI announced a 400-megawatt data center near Abilene powered by its own natural gas plant. They say they have assembled land but have not said exactly where. Little else is public about PowerPlay AI.
Where things stand: Announced July 2026; companies are seeking gas supply deals and a power producer; target 2028.
