Proposed
Bolt Data and Energy 'Project North' (west of Albany)
Also called: Project North
Bolt Data and Energy proposes a second big data center in Shackelford County, called Project North, on a ranch about 16 miles west of Albany. The company says it would make its own power. It has not shared the size, water use, jobs or timeline. Residents at a town hall were split; many worry about traffic from construction at the Frontier campus.
Where things stand: Town hall held Aug. 12, 2026; county commissioners have not approved it.
๐ Latest update (Aug 12, 2026): Residents heard from the developer at a town hall at Albany High School.
