Local votes and rules

โš–๏ธ Court case

The Data Center Action Coalition and local residents, with lawyers from the Save Our Springs Alliance, sued the Guadalupe County Commissioners Court. They say the county broke open meetings, tax and conflict-of-interest laws when it approved tax breaks and development deals for two data centers near Seguin, CloudBurst and Palomino Alpha. Together the projects cover more than 1,700 acres.

July 20, 2026

Guadalupe County commissioners approved a property tax break (abatement) for the CloudBurst Texas data center, a project of more than 700 acres near Seguin. Residents later sued, saying the approval broke state law.

April 2026

๐Ÿค Agreement with the company

Guadalupe County commissioners approved a tax break for the Palomino Alpha data center on December 17, 2024, and a development agreement on April 15, 2025. The county judge stepped aside from both votes. The project asked a local water supplier for 500,000 gallons a day. A 2026 lawsuit challenges these approvals.
