Meta El Paso data center campus

Also called: Project Seafox, Wurldwide LLC

Meta is building a huge AI data center on about 1,000 acres in Northeast El Paso. The plan grew from $800 million to more than $10 billion and 1 gigawatt of power. El Paso Electric wants to build a gas power plant next to it, and some residents worry about water, air and power bills.

Local votes and rules

๐Ÿ“Œ Other

El Paso City Council unanimously approved its first Data Center Policy Framework. Future very large (hyperscale) data centers will need a special permit with a public hearing and a City Council vote. The city will not give local tax breaks to new hyperscale data centers and will ask for community benefit deals instead. It does not apply to the Meta data center already being built in Northeast El Paso.
