🔎 What we checked
- Oct 6, 2026: We checked the Susquehanna River Basin Commission's public list of water applications: there is no water application from this project. As of mid-2026, SRBC said Amazon's Salem Township campus was the only data center it had approved. A data center needs SRBC approval before it runs if it uses up (mostly by evaporation) more than 20,000 gallons a day on a 30-day average, or takes water from its own wells or streams above SRBC limits.
What happened so far
- May 19, 2025Elysian Partners told supervisors it wanted to build an AI data center off White Oak Road and asked if the township would change its zoning; it gave figures for a 750,000-square-foot building and 80 to 120 jobs.
- Aug 2025A Florida real estate company urged the township to allow data centers.

Windsor Township in York County considered a zoning change that would allow data centers only by special exception from the Zoning Hearing Board. Sites would need at least 20 acres and buildings would be 100 feet from property lines.
