Local votes and rules

Springhill Township supervisors put off votes on the data center and power plant rules so the public notice could run long enough. They passed a resolution saying no data center or power plant applications would be accepted until the September 17 vote. They did adopt a new noise and dust ordinance the same night.

Springhill Township introduced draft rules for data centers, plus rules on noise, dust, and fossil-fuel power plants. A power company has shown interest in an 800-acre site. A special meeting on the rules was set for September 3, 2026, with a final vote expected later.
