Project Hummingbird (former Robena Mine)
Also called: Project Hummingbird, IEP Greene County, Robena data center
A Pittsburgh power company plans to build a gas power plant at the old Robena Mine to attract a big data center. It would take up to 18 million gallons of water a day from the Monongahela River for power and cooling. The county approved the first phase of site work; no tenant has been named.
Where things stand: Greene County Planning Commission approved phase 1 site work (grading, two gas turbines, water plant) 8-1 in late 2025. No data center tenant announced.
๐ Latest update (Dec 19, 2025): Greene County Planning Commission voted 8-1 to approve phase 1: grading 309 acres, two gas turbines, and a water treatment plant.
