NorthPoint data center on Tresckow Mountain (Banks and Packer townships)
Also called: Spring Mountain Quakake Tunnel (NorthPoint Development), Tresckow data center
NorthPoint Development, the same company behind Project Hazelnut, bought about 1,200 acres on Tresckow Mountain in Banks and Packer townships for a possible data center. If it does not use a closed cooling system, it could draw up to 2 million gallons a day from the Quakake mine tunnel. Neighbors have spoken against it.
Where things stand: NorthPoint held public sessions in fall 2025 and said it would seek a zoning overlay. DEP lists it as proposed with no permit applications received.
๐ Latest update (Sept 30, 2025): NorthPoint met the public in Tresckow. About 150 people came; many said they do not want it. A second session was planned in Packer Township.
