Microsoft La Porte data center campus

Microsoft is building a data center campus in La Porte. The first phase has six buildings, and plans grow to 17 buildings after the city annexed about 1,000 more acres. Microsoft says about 600 permanent jobs will come with the first phase.
Where things stand: Groundbreaking was June 17, 2026. First three buildings expected done by 2029.
