White Rose Partners data center (Kenyon Road and Route 25, South Elgin)
White Rose Partners wanted to build a 48-megawatt data center on part of a dairy farm at Kenyon Road and Route 25. The land would need to join South Elgin. The Village Board said no, and thousands signed a petition against it.
Where things stand: Village Board unanimously passed a resolution saying it intends to deny annexing the land for a data center. The developer said 'all options are on the table.'
🕒 Latest update (July 2026): White Rose Partners presented plans for a 200,000-square-foot data center on farmland it would buy; a petition against it passed 5,400 names.
