TA Realty plans a 180-megawatt data center worth about $959 million on East Tanners Church Road. County commissioners approved the site plan in 2024, and the county development authority gave it a 10-year tax break in 2025. The authority did not make the value of the tax break public.

Clayton County commissioners voted for a 120-day pause on new data centers, through December 31, 2025, to study health, safety and water effects. News reports in 2026 still describe a Clayton County pause covering areas outside city limits; cities such as Lovejoy and Forest Park are not covered.
