βΈοΈ Pause on new data centers
After months of protests over the Amazon data center, Falls supervisors declared parts of their zoning code invalid. This gives the township about six months to rewrite where and how data centers can be built, and protects it from developer challenges while it does. It does not stop the Amazon project already being built.
β Approved
Falls Township supervisors approved changed land development plans at the Keystone Trade Center, a former U.S. Steel site on the Delaware River. The changes let warehouse buildings there be used for an Amazon Web Services data center, which is now under construction.
