City commissioners voted 4-3 for a one-year pause on new data centers and other users of 50 megawatts or more. It took effect right away. It followed the Project Swan proposal. The three no votes wanted a pause that only covers big data centers.

A residents' group turned in petitions to recall the mayor, vice mayor and one commissioner, mainly over the data center vote. Signatures must be checked, and more signatures are needed before a recall election can be set.
