Hammond's Village Board voted 6-0 to sue in St. Croix County Circuit Court to overturn the data center permit its own Board of Appeals granted. A court hearing is set for October 13, 2026.

Hammond's Board of Appeals overturned the Village Board and granted Metered Mining's data center permit with 11 conditions, including a noise limit of 50 decibels at the property line.

Hammond's Village Board voted to deny a special permit for Metered Mining's small data center in the industrial park. The village's Board of Appeals later reversed that.
