Metered Mining plans a small 6-megawatt data center on about 2 acres in Hammond's industrial park. The Village Board said no, but its Board of Appeals approved it with conditions. The Village Board is now fighting that approval in court.

- June 8, 2026The village's Board of Appeals reversed that and granted the permit with 11 conditions, including noise limits of 50 decibels at the property line and a water limit of 3,000 gallons a month.
