Grant County passed a pause of up to 12 months on zoning permits for very large data centers. The board approved it by voice vote. The county will write long-term rules in that time.

Town of Cassville residents voted to give the town board zoning power, and the board adopted a rule that bans data centers in the town for up to two years, or until the town writes zoning. It came after an unnamed developer floated a $1 billion, roughly 500-acre data center.
