⏸️ Pause on new data centers · Spokane County

Spokane County commissioners voted 5-0 to pause new data center permits in unincorporated areas for four months, until about Dec. 15, 2026. In July the board had split 3-2 against a longer nine-month pause, then changed course after strong public pushback. The county Planning Commission is writing zoning rules. The pause can be extended.
