A regional authority owned by Roanoke, Roanoke County and Salem voted unanimously, after a closed session, to agree to sell 94 acres at Wood Haven Technology Park to Clearview Dynamics for a possible data center using water from Spring Hollow Reservoir. All 11 public speakers opposed it. Study of the site runs to March 2027; the sale could close in October 2027.
