Gallatin's planning commission recommended a 12-month data center pause by a 5-2 vote. On Sept. 15, 2026 the city council passed a shorter six-month pause on first reading, 5-1, and left out facilities that mainly serve phone and internet networks. A second vote is still needed.
⏸️ Pause on new data centers · Goodlettsville
Goodlettsville's Board of Commissioners voted 5-0 (Aug. 13 and Sept. 10, 2026) for a pause on new data center site plans and permits (Ordinance 26-11-54) while staff write rules. Reports differ on the length: 180 days or 18 months. No data center is proposed there now.

Gallatin City Council approved a 60-day pause on new data center applications. Council members said this was not the full moratorium proposed earlier.
