Silicon Foundation data center at the old Centre Foundry, Warwood
Also called: Centre Foundry data center
A company bought the old Centre Foundry in Warwood and talked about a data center there, starting at 10 megawatts and maybe growing to 100. Later the company said it would mostly be a factory that builds data center modules. City leaders say they were not told in advance.
Where things stand: Company bought the site in 2026. Reports differ: a 10 MW start growing to 100 MW, or mainly a factory building data center modules.
🕒 Latest update (June 2026): A company official said the site would mainly build data center modules, with only about 10 units on site.

Local votes and rules
⚖️ Court case
A group of Warwood residents sued Silicon Foundation to stop a data center at the old Centre Foundry site. They say the state data center law (HB 2014) is unconstitutional, that a data center does not fit the site's industrial zoning, and that the project must go through Wheeling's planning commission, zoning board and city council. No ruling was found yet.
