Adams Fork Data Center Energy Campus (TransGas) in Wharncliffe
Also called: Adams Fork data center project
A gas power plant and data center campus planned on a former mine and golf course site at Wharncliffe. The plant could make about 2,400 megawatts for data centers, without connecting to the grid. Residents worry about water, noise and air pollution, and some have sued.
Where things stand: State air permit for the gas power plant issued Oct. 2, 2025. No data center user named. Residents have sued in federal court.
🕒 Latest update (Oct 2, 2025): State DEP issued air permits R13-3714 and R13-3715 for the two TransGas plants.
