Proposed
Rock Point data center and hydrogen plant on the West Plains
Also called: Rock Point
Apricus Energy Partners has pitched a data center that would help pay for a hydrogen plant on 514 acres on the West Plains. County records say it could one day use up to 1,000 MW. Avista said it could only supply part of that, and only if the developer pays for new power lines. No permit application has been filed.
Where things stand: Pitched to the county; no application filed. County paused new data center permits in Aug 2026.
๐ Latest update (July 30, 2026): Residents spoke against the project at a county planning commission meeting.
