Brandy Station data center campus
A developer proposed a 4.6 million-square-foot data center campus less than a mile from Fleetwood Hill and Culpeper Battlefields State Park. It would need three substations and at least two miles of new power lines. The Planning Commission voted unanimously in June 2024 to recommend denial.

Supervisors now require a conditional use permit (with a public hearing) for all new data centers on industrial land outside the Culpeper Tech Zone. Before, they were allowed there by right.
