Proposed
Amazon Mattameade data center campus (I-95 and Mudd Tavern Road)
Also called: Mattermeade Tech Campus
Amazon wants to build 11 two-story data center buildings on about 1,143 acres southeast of I-95 and Mudd Tavern Road, on land in both Caroline and Spotsylvania counties. Its permit papers say the campus could reach at least 770 MW and include three substation pads and a water treatment plant.
Where things stand: Amazon applied for federal and state wetlands permits in February 2025.
๐ Latest update (Feb 2025): Amazon sent a joint wetlands permit application to the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers.
