Meta data center campus expansion (New Albany, 'Prometheus')
Also called: Meta Columbus East, Meta Licking County South, Socrates North and South power plants
Meta has been growing its New Albany data center campus since 2017 and is building more on 574 acres. It is making its own power with gas plants and asked to borrow a substation built for Intel's delayed chip plant. Residents track air quality because of gas plants and backup diesel generators.
Where things stand: Meta keeps adding buildings. Its own 200 MW gas plant began running in August 2026; a second is under construction.
๐ Latest update (Aug 2026): The 200 MW 'Socrates South' gas plant near Beech and Morse roads began running.
