EdgeConneX data center campus on Innovation Campus Way (New Albany)

EdgeConneX is turning a 525,000 sq. ft. warehouse into a data center and adding a new 700,000 sq. ft. building in New Albany. It is building its own gas power plants on site instead of using AEP's grid.
Where things stand: Warehouse conversion and on-site gas power plants under construction; first data center set to open in early 2027.

- June 2025New Albany planning commission approved temporary construction and concrete site work.
- July 22, 2025Ohio Power Siting Board approved the first 120 MW on-site gas plant.
- Nov 20, 2025Ohio Power Siting Board approved a second 216 MW gas plant.
- April 10, 2026A case for a third, 430 MW gas plant was opened with the Power Siting Board.
