The owner of the old McDonald steel mill wants to sell about 350 acres for a large data center. The developer Oppidan met with residents in September 2026 but has not bought the land or filed a plan. Many residents asked the village to pause data centers.
Where things stand: No site plan filed. Oppidan held a public forum on Sept. 15, 2026. Residents asked council for a pause.
