CoreWeave AI data center at the former Merck campus (NEST)
Also called: NEST data center, Northeast Science & Technology Center
CoreWeave is turning a former Merck lab building in Kenilworth into a large AI data center, about 392,600 sq ft and up to 250 MW. The state gave it a $250 million tax credit. Some nearby residents worry about the power grid, safety and the environment.
Where things stand: Construction started in mid-September 2025; CoreWeave expects it to open in early 2027.
๐ Latest update (Nov 2025): NJ Economic Development Authority approved a $250 million tax credit for the 250 MW project.
