Residents tried to recall all seven township board members over the rezoning vote. The county clerk rejected the petitions on a technical error in circulator addresses, so no recall vote in November 2026. A recall vote could still come in May 2027.

The local water and sewer authority (YCUA) refused new water and sewer service to large data centers and AI computing centers for 12 months while it studies its system. It serves Ypsilanti Township, Augusta Township and other nearby towns.
