Red Wolf data center campus west of Kansas Speedway
Also called: Project Red Wolf, Red Wolf DCD Properties
A developer wants to build six big data center buildings on about 548 acres west of Kansas Speedway in Kansas City, Kansas. It would cost about $12.6 billion and use up to 600 megawatts of power. The company that would use it has not been named. Neighbors filed a protest petition and a lawsuit, and the project has stalled.
Where things stand: Rezoning partly passed in 2025, but the north half failed a needed supermajority vote and residents sued. No final deal with the city utility as of January 2026.
π Latest update (Jan 29, 2026): Reported still in early planning, with no signed deal with BPU or the Unified Government.
