Proposed
Blue Power gas plant and data center (near Carbon)
Also called: Blue Power LLC, Brazil data center
Blue Power LLC owns about 28 acres near Carbon and got a state air permit for a natural gas power plant to power a data center nearby. The county learned about it from outside sources. Commissioners say they oppose a data center, but the county has no zoning to stop it.
Where things stand: The state air permit for a gas power plant was approved in Sept. 2025. Plans for the data center itself are not public.
๐ Latest update (July 2026): Officials said that without county zoning they cannot pause the project.
