T5 @ Chicago IV data center campus (Grayslake)
Also called: T5@Chicago IV, Cornerstone business park
T5 is building a giant data center campus on 472 acres in Grayslake, with up to 18 buildings and 1,550 megawatts of power from ComEd. It will have diesel backup generators. Daily water use is said to be under 50,000 gallons, but filling the cooling systems at start-up can take millions of gallons.

๐ Latest update (Sept 1, 2026): Village issued the first building permit, for an 800,000-square-foot building.

โ๏ธ Court case
A residents' group and nine residents sued Grayslake, T5 Data Centers and Alter Asset Management. They say village zoning does not allow data centers and that officials made the deal in closed meetings and private emails, against the Open Meetings Act. They want the approvals and the development deal cancelled. The village asked the court to dismiss it.
