βοΈ Court case
A residents' group and nine residents sued Grayslake, T5 Data Centers and Alter Asset Management. They say village zoning does not allow data centers and that officials made the deal in closed meetings and private emails, against the Open Meetings Act. They want the approvals and the development deal cancelled. The village asked the court to dismiss it.
βΈοΈ Pause on new data centers Β· Lake County
County board voted to freeze data center applications in unincorporated Lake County while staff write rules, and set up a pause of up to eight months. The zoning board then held a hearing in August. Reports say the pause ends May 11, 2027, or sooner if rules pass. It does not cover towns like Grayslake.
