Hut 8 data center (1780 Hubbard Ave., Batavia)
Hut 8 plans a $500 million, 120,000-square-foot data center on Hubbard Avenue, starting at about 20 megawatts and growing to 50. The city capped its water use at 1,000 gallons a day on average and banned bitcoin mining there.
Where things stand: City Council approved a power deal in July 2025 and a water deal 9-2 on Sept. 2, 2025. Final building plans still go to the Plan Commission.
