Tyrone approved a rezoning for a Microsoft data center in March 2024. The town says Microsoft expects to use about 4,000 gallons of water a day once running. As of mid-2026, Microsoft had not filed a site plan or any building permits.
Where things stand: Rezoning approved March 28, 2024. As of June 2026, no site plan or permits had been filed.
