Hampton Technology Park is a planned five-building, 4-million-square-foot data center campus on about 600 acres. The state filing lists up to 1,500 megawatts and $12 billion. A preservation group is working to protect a historic Black cemetery next to the site.

Local votes and rules

Hampton gave a conditional use permit for a three-building data center on 133 acres north of Georgia 20 at McDonough Street, the first approved in Henry County. Conditions include a 100-foot buffer, screening, a noise study and a $75,000 payment to the city.
