A data center campus of up to seven buildings is planned on about 584 acres just east of Cordele. Crisp County approved the rezoning in June 2025. Filings value it at $6 billion, and county staff said it would use about 300,000 gallons of water a day.
Where things stand: Crisp County rezoned 583.62 acres for the data center on June 10, 2025. A new developer, Premier Data Center Development, now leads the project.

What happened so far
- March 2025Red Wolf DCD Properties filed a state regional impact review (DRI) for seven 300,000 square foot buildings and a substation, built in phases from 2029 to 2033.
- April 3, 2025The Middle Flint Regional Commission found the project in the best interest of the region (state regional impact review).
- May 13, 2025Crisp County commissioners held a public hearing; nearby residents spoke against it.
- June 10, 2025Commissioners voted unanimously to rezone 583.62 acres from rural residential to general commercial, with conditions.
- Aug 2026Residents met at Midway Church about the project, now led by Premier Data Center Development.
