The owners of an RV resort next to the Metter-Candler Airport filed plans for a data center campus on about 470 acres. The state filing shows five buildings of up to 250,000 square feet each, built over 5 to 7 years. The county says it would not be a giant hyperscale site, and commissioners decided not to pause data centers.
Where things stand: A state regional impact review (DRI) was started on Oct. 5, 2026, and a rezoning application was received pending fees. The county voted the same day not to pursue a moratorium.
